The most useful superfoods for your body

Everyone knows that if you want to feel well rested and wake up in a great mood every day, you need to take good care of your body. That means a solid combination of proper nutrition and getting the right amount of exercise.

That’s easier said than done, of course, and most of us struggle at one point or another in our lives to get the balance just right. The good news is that some foods can make hitting our nutritional goals a breeze. If cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots are boring you half to death and you’re keen to try some of the new superfoods on the shelves, read on to discover four of the most useful superfoods that your body loves.

Baobab

Baobab is a tree that grows in Africa and Australia, and its fruits are a nutritional powerhouse. This superfood is packed with the good stuff, boasting 10 times more antioxidants than blueberries, cranberries, and pomegranates, and twice as many as goji berries. It also has double the amount of calcium that’s in milk, six times more potassium than bananas, and five times more vitamin C than oranges — plenty of reasons to add baobab to your diet!

aobab can be eaten fresh, but is more often found in a dried powder form. We recommend adding a teaspoon of baobab powder to your smoothies for a nutrient boost.

Maté

Maté (which is also known as chimarrão) is a caffeine-rich tea from the tropical forests of South America, and it makes an excellent replacement for your usual coffee! This superfood not only contains a caffeine kick, but it’s got plenty of beneficial antioxidants. It helps reduce stress, cleanse the body, and increase immunity and longevity. A cup of this stuff in the morning is the perfect start to the day.

Moringa

The humble moringa plant is having a moment in the spotlight, and it’s little wonder. The leaves from this native Himalayan tree contain more than 46 useful antioxidants, six times more than goji berries. It’s often ground into a powder that can be added to salads, juices, and all other drinks. We love it with Guarchibao Weight Loss smoothies.

If you’re looking for more iron in your diet, moringa is a top choice, it contains more than five times the iron that spinach does. And finally, this little leaf has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Cactus water

It might sound a little strange, but cactus water is a great way to stay hydrated and get some essentials into your body. Made from the prickly pear cactus which grown in the deserts of Mexico and the Southwest United States, this light, berry-flavored drink contains both the pulp and juice of the cactus’ fruit. It’s saturated with amino acids, vitamins, taurine and free radicals that help protect muscle tissues from damage.
